Radioactive Is The New Green

The White House is working hard to advance climate change legislation in Congress and hopes an announcement to jumpstart the nuclear power industry will appeal to Republican skeptics, a top adviser to President Barack Obama said.

Obama will announce on Tuesday an $8.3 billion loan guarantee to help Southern Co. build two reactors, a move that the administration hopes will invigorate the nuclear power industry after nearly three decades in which no new plants have been built.

Carol Browner, Obama’s top energy and climate adviser, said she was hopeful about progress on energy and climate legislation that is currently stalled in the U.S. Senate.

Apparently, for the left, going nuke is the way to go green. WTF?!? What happened to all those passionate anti-nuclear protests in the US back in the 1970s and ’80s?

Where’s all that moral indignation over Three Mile Island?

Now that the imminent environmental threat is (gasp!) carbon dioxide, the morally promiscuous left has ditched their anti-nuke placards and peace-signs for the new “climate change” fad–the Al Gore spin to what was called “global warming” before the warming apparently stopped (OMG! hide the decline!). This non-toxic gas that every animal expires and every plant inspires is now declared a threat to public health and welfare by the EPA. Perhaps they’ll ban water next.

The times, indeed, they are a changin’.
